Description

Analgyph by Koen Deprez

The drowning death is part of a series of four drawings that Deprez made between 2018 and 2019. They are reworkings of the lost architecture project Aggression Parks from 1984. The collage technique from the 1980s has been replaced by an anaglyphe technique. This is a technique that involves projecting a relief on the retina by means of a 3D rill. Within the context of the lost documents of Aggression Parks, the colour magenta should be read as the ‘then’ and cyan the ‘now’. Or in time: The violence (then) on the memory (now).
