Hand drawing by Claude Parent
“STOP and GO” city
180,00€ – 890,00€
Description
Along the path of the great migration… “STOP AND GO” city.
As early as 2009, Claude Parent wondered about the future of the city and its encounter —confrontation, cohabitation or adaptation — with the future great human migrations which, he says, will cross the world in a nomadic fashion. In his texts, he advocates leaving an open passage for migration, offering new welcoming structures or opening up cities to it. Graphically, he transcribes this vision in series of drawings called Migrations, Incisions, and Stop and Go. This drawing from the Stop and Go series shows a city developing on the landscape and supporting at its heart the main axis of migration, both temporary shelter for migrants and city for its sedentary inhabitants, in perfect harmony.
