Description

Hand drawing by Hans-Georg Rauch

“L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui is the reference architecture review created in 1930 by André Bloc together with  Le Corbusier. Re-launched in 2009 by the publishing house Archipress & Associates, the magazine is published six times a year and distributed worldwide. In 1976, Bernard Huet, reformer of the Beaux-Arts and then editor-in-chief of the magazine, signed in the editorial of this issue 187: “Declaring that ‘architectural quality is in the public interest is demagogy’ because, unlike medicine, no public sector of architecture will be able to defend this ‘interest’ in the face of market pressures and the appetites of profit.”
The cover of this issue “Housing & Urban Forms” is a hand-made design by Hans-Georg Rauch, German graphic designer, illustrator and engraver.
This drawing is taken from “Drawings to look closely”.
