Koen Deprez

Koen Deprez (b. 1961, Kortrijk, Belgium) is a Belgian artist and researcher.
As Prof. Dr. in the philosophy of Architecture, he is attached to the faculty of architecture, KU Leuven. In 2021 he completed a PhD entitled: Apology for the flight, reflections on the use of narrative techniques within an oeuvre. His work is part of several private and public collections. He has exhibited his work nationally and internationally, including solo and group exhibitions in Brussels, New York, Paris, Zurich, Billund, Saint-Petersburg, Helsinki, Firenze and Moscow amongst others.
His most important realisations are The Conceivable House, The House of Words, Elegy for Joseph Brodsky, Beach Cabins on the Belgian Coast, Aggression Parks, The Indefinable Journey, Coincidental Piedestal for Girolamo Savonarola, Self-Navigation, and a new school for future art and architectural education based on unlearning instead of learning.
