Commissioned in 1982 for the restoration of the Hôtel des Invalides, this work captures his vision for the dome of the Saint-Louis church. Presented to the Minister of Culture in 1986, it played a key role in initiating the global restoration project.

A luminous study, revealing the dome’s brilliance through subtle gold leaf highlights.

Jean-Claude Rochette (1927–2023)

Jean-Claude Rochette was a French architect and Chief Architect of Historic Monuments, known for his work on some of France’s most important historic sites. Bridging drawing, restoration and transmission, his career combined architectural practice, public service and teaching, notably at the École de Chaillot.
